Secondary school pupils, especially, need healthy, nutritionally balanced food to help their physical and intellectual development, but they can be fickle in their preferences. Which is why our menu development team, comprising executive chefs and nutritionists, go to great lengths to create tasty, nutritionally balanced dishes that are familiar and appealing to young diners. Our secondary school two-course menu operates on a four-week cycle and comprises a wide selection of wholesome, tasty main courses that range from exotic Caribbean Fruity Curry and homemade Salmon Fish Cakes with tomato salsa to traditional favorites such as roast dinners and chicken or veggie sausage Toad-In-The Hole, with lots of fresh vegetables and salads to choose from. The secondary school four-week menu also includes 25 different vegetarian options many of which, unusually, are not cheese-based, such as Sweet and Sour Quorn. For desserts there is a great range of fresh fruit on offer, alongside popular hot puddings like Pineapple Upside-down Cake, Toffee Apple Crumble and Chocolate Fruity Bread & Butter Pudding (which, incidentally, we prepare using chocolate powder rather than conventional cooking chocolate in order to minimize fat content). In addition to mineral water, pupils can choose from alternative healthy drink accompaniments such as premium fruit smoothies and juice drinks. |
